Police Dog Vest
You may remember Tanja, the Walker county K9 who was shot and killed last year during an arrest.
Walker county now has a new K9 officer named Rocky.
But for now Rocky doesn’t have a kevlar vest.
Robin Scott has raised money to buy 39 of the vests for police agencies in this area.
And she’s seeking donations of 985-dollars for a vest for Rocky.
"I am trying to get this dog a vest as quick as possible. Because I do not want that same scenario to happen.Just get a dog and then lose a dog. Cause, as you know, it can happen."
Robin Scott has a Facebook page, inVEST in K9, if you’d like to take part in that effort.
After Tanja’s death, the Georgia Legislature passed stronger punishment laws for anyone who would harm a K9 doing its job.
