Dalton Knecht’s Status For George Mason Game Up in the Air With Ankle Injury

The Vols basketball team returns to action Tuesday night against George Mason, but will they have their leading scorer on the floor?

Dalton Knecht turned his left ankle in Tennessee’s game last Wednesday against North Carolina.

He’s averaging just over 20 points a game, second best total in the SEC.

Head coach Rick Barnes says Knecht’s status for George mason remains up in the air.

Barnes:”He tells me he feels okay. We’ll see. Again I think it’s just a day-by-day right now.”
Reporter:”Would it make sense to just hold him out tomorrow?”
Barnes:”It depends on him. If he wants. If he’s capable. We’ll hold him out if we don’t think he’s ready. Players like that. They want to play. We’ll leave it up to what Chad and he thinks. Again we’ll know more after practice today.”

The Vols and George Mason tip at 6:30pm on Tuesday.
