Bradley Central’s Boo Carter and Marcus Goree Jr Enrolling Early With Tennessee Vols

Cleveland, TN-(WDEF-TV) Bradley Central’s Boo Carter and Marcus Goree Jr are getting a jump start on their college football careers.
They’ll both be practicing with Tennessee this weekend, as early enrollees.
Even though the two defensive backs will go through the Vols bowl practice sessions, they will not be able to play in the Citrus Bowl.
Bradley Central had a send-off party for the duo on Friday, and News 12’s Brian Armstrong was there.

Boo Carter and Marcus Gorey Jr. are saying goodbye to Bradley Central and hello to the Tennessee Vols as early enrollees.

Said Bradley Central head coach Damon Floyd: “It’s a special day. You know, we got two special players that are obviously great players, but they’re also great people. Uh, so to be able to celebrate them and send them off, you know, the right way. It means a lot for the school.”

Said Carter: “We were in the same defense as Tennessee, so it’s just different play calling, so we already know it. I mean, we already got the connection with each other on the same side.”

The two go together as friends and secondary teammates. Although they only played one season together at Bradley, playing together at Tennessee has been a goal of theirs for years.

Said Goree: “Man, I’ve been talking about this since 8th grade, 9th grade, and it finally came true.”

Tennessee currently has six DBs in the transfer portal, so this extra practice time gives Carter and Gorey extra time to shine.

Said Carter: “Ain’t nobody got no starting job, so that’s the start of some of the starting key players leaving. I mean, as we compete and get better in practice, we can maintain this on the front stage.

Said Goree: “It just gives me confidence and stuff, you know, being able to see them live doing it and practice with them. And like, you know, run the scout team plays to help them, like, understand the idea of defense

Said Carter: “It was great. Uh man come watch us play against a Knoxville.”
