120-year-old log house destroyed in fire

DUNLAP, Tenn. (WDEF) — A 120-year-old log house in Dunlap was completely destroyed in a fire over the weekend, according to firefighters.
Crews responded to the fire on Sunday, December 17, just before 11:30 a.m. The house was located on Tram Trail, near Highway 111.

Originally, responders believed a person was inside the home. They entered the house to search for the occupant, but they confirmed the owner was not at home 30 minutes later.
Firefighters were battling the flames inside the home, until the roof started to collapse. They then continued fighting the fire from the outside.
However, the Dunlap Fire Department said the log home was a total loss.

Fire officials said there were no injuries.
Red Cross will be assisting the homeowner during this time.
