Carlee Lowry Leading Impressive Start For Signal Mountain

Signal Mountain, TN-(WDEF-TV) The Signal Mountain girls basketball team is off to a fast start this season, thanks in large part to play of junior Carlee Lowry.

News 12’s Brian Armstrong catches up with the outstanding Eagles player, who already has scored 30 in a game this season.

Said Signal Mountain Carol Bell: Definitely athleticism. Um, very competitive in, in the, in the moment. And obviously, you know, has a great skill set and our kids do a good job getting her the ball.

Signal Mountain Girls basketball got off to its best start in school history at nine-0.

Said Bell: You know, I just told them in there. I don’t think a signal mountain teams ever done that. So I’m super proud of them. And, and, you know, they took a lot of pride in that. We’ve had a couple of close games and somehow come out and, and, uh, one of, and, and one knows. So once again, a veteran team that that’s kind of what they should do.

Said Lowry: Coach Bell said it’s the best start a team has had. And that definitely means a lot. But I think we just, we just get after it at practice and we We know that’s what we can do.

Signal Mountain has had numerous standout players during the unbeaten run, including junior Carlee Lowry.

Said Bell: She can just go get a rebound and kind of make her own shot, if that makes sense, and not a lot of kids can do that. You know, she didn’t have to rely on anyone to get her the ball. I just kind of read the ball when it goes off the rim and just get it. Just anything I can do to get the ball, basically.

She turned into 30 point performance and Signal Mountains come from behind. Victory over Baylor. I think that I’m just able to, when people shoot, I’m able to get rebounds.

Said Lowry: “I’m definitely not the best shooter, but I’m there to pick them up when they miss and I’m able to put ’em back.

and Signal Mountain fans have two years left to enjoy her game.

Said Bell: Good for the future. For sure. We will have some big losses this year, but we just trust that our younger kids will come along next year and Carlee will be good. You know, we will have her for five years and wish we could have her for more.
