Ruby Falls celebrates 95th anniversary on December 30th

LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Tenn.  (WDEF) — A local Chattanooga treasure celebrated its 95th anniversary on Saturday with a special dedication.

Ruby Falls lit 95 candles in honor of 95 years serving the greater Chattanooga community.

Leo Lambert founded the falls on December 30, 1928.

The Falls have been a family-friendly adventure for nearly a century.

This attraction has been popular for those in Chattanooga and out-of-towners.

Guests ventured out to the waterfall on an hour long journey to see special anniversary decorations.

PR Specialist, Jaclyn Lewis said,”We’re celebrating all year long, since this is a milestone anniversary. But, today is the actual anniversary to the day. So, we’re doing lots of special things. And we’ve had a lot of people come out and celebrate with us.”

Lewis mentioned the first tour of the day took place at 7:30 a.m.

By noon, tours were completely sold out.

Ruby Falls held packed tours until 8 p.m. on Saturday.
