CPD: Man hits officer with stolen car, gets arrested
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Chattanooga police arrested a man for running from officers in a stolen car on Wednesday.
The Chattanooga Police Department (CPD) said they found a stolen Audi A5 in a driveway on Dee Drive at around 4:30 p.m.
An officer got out of his car and the suspect drove into the police car. This caused minor injuries for the officer.
CPD continued pursuing the suspect in the stolen car, which drove recklessly, hitting other vehicles as well.
First responders took one driver to the hospital with minor injuries.
The Audi finally stopped at the intersection of North Willow Street and East 3rd Street. The suspect then got out of the car and ran from police on foot.
Officers finally found and stopped the suspect, who they identified as 19-year-old Denzel Roberson.
The police department said Roberson faces charges of vehicle theft, three counts of aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, evading arrest and several other charges.
CPD said their investigation is ongoing.
