High profile carjacking case bound over to grand jury; bond reduction denied
Shortly before 10am, a judge denied the $95,000 bond reduction and then bound Hester’s case over to a grand jury.
The victim’s family told WDEF they received a call early Thursday morning. The victim was asked to appear in court to give testimony.
Despite Hester’s change in appearance, the victim was still able to positively identify Hester as the woman who carjacked her.
The victim who previously asked WDEF not to be identified has accused Hester of running her over during a carjacking to get away from law enforcement.
According to the victim’s son, his mother is scheduled to undergo surgery tomorrow to repair an ankle that was severely broken during the carjacking.
WDEF has reached out Hester’s attorney, Erinn Rene O’leary, but she was not available for comment.
Hester’s next court date is scheduled for next Monday.
