National Cornbread Festival announces musical lineup

SOUTH PITTSBURG, Tenn. (WDEF) – Riverbend and the Moon River Festivals may be taking the year off, but the National Cornbread Festival is not.

The annual event in South Pittsburg announced their music lineup for April.

They will have 20 acts this year on Saturday and Sunday, April 27-28.

Most are new artists.

The headliner for Saturday is country music performer David Nail.

His hits include the singles “Let It Rain” and “Whatever She’s Got.”

The Sunday headliner is country and gospel singer Emily Ann Roberts.

The Knoxville native was a finalist on the 2015 season of The Voice.

Tickets are now on sale.

Of course, the entertainment is just a bonus at the festival.

It’s really about the Cornbread.

The festival has now opened entries for the best cornbread recipes in the country to be judged at the event.

The Cook-Off champion wins a $5,000 cash price plus a steel gas range and gifts from Lodge Cast Iron.
