UTC Women’s Basketball stays perfect in conference in 79-62 Victory Over Furman

GoMocs- Chattanooga (19-3, 7-0 SoCon) made it through the first half of Southern Conference action undefeated with a 79-62 win over Furman (12-11, 2-5 SoCon) at The McKenzie Arena. The Mocs celebrated 50 seasons of women’s basketball Saturday with former players in the stands and honored at halftime.

The Mocs put together a 10-0 run in the first quarter and led 22-13 after 10 minutes. UTC built that lead to 43-29 at halftime. Seven straight points from the Paladins cut the lead to single digits in the third, but the Mocs stretched the advantage to double figures, 57-46, heading into the fourth.

Chattanooga shot 59.2 percent (29-49) for the game and drained seven from the 3-point line while making 14-of-17 from the free throw line.

Raven Thompson led the Mocs with 17 points on 7-of-9 from the field. Hannah Kohn dropped in 16 points and was 4-of-6 from deep. Karsen Murphy had nine points and a team-best six rebounds. Caia Elisaldez dished out eight assists with nine points.
