Shooting reported near Notre Dame High School
UPDATE:
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Chattanooga Police confirmed that a person was shot Tuesday afternoon near Notre Dame High School.
They say this was an “isolated incident from the school.”
The victim’s injuries were not life-threatening.
Several facilities were placed on a temporary lockdown during the investigation.
Authorities searched the area, ensured it was secure and then released the facilities from the lockdown.

A Notre Dame High School spokesperson tells us that the suspect did come onto school property and fired a gun. They say it did not happen inside the school.
None of the school employees or students were involved at all.
However, we have not yet confirmed whether anyone else was shot.
The spokesperson said the scene has been cleared.

The Chattanooga Police Department reported that the shooting happened next to the school campus, which is the reasoning for the heavy police presence.

Notre Dame High School took to X to report that the shooting did not involve any school students or employees.
However, they are dismissing late due to the incident.
The shooting call first came in just before 2:30 p.m.
The Chattanooga Police Department and Hamilton County EMS responded to the scene.
CHI Memorial employees told News 12 that the hospital was on lockdown. Notre Dame High School also confirmed they were on a lockdown.
