Sheriff: East Hamilton Middle student makes bomb threat in school

HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office is filing charges against a juvenile who reportedly threatened to plant a bomb at East Hamilton Middle School.

The sheriff’s office said this was an East Hamilton student, who was on campus while making the threat.

Authorities received the report at 9:40 a.m. on Wednesday, February 14.

They say the student threatened to plant a bomb in the school.

After searching the school, the HCSO said they did not find a bomb device.

Authorities say they filed a petition in the Hamilton County Juvenile Court.

The student faces the charge of making threats of mass violence on school property.

Since the suspect in this case is a juvenile, HCSO has not identified them.
