Woods, grass fire extinguished by Lafayette firefighters

LAFAYETTE, Ga. (WDEF) — Lafayette firefighters worked to extinguish a woods and grass fire Monday afternoon.

Firefighters said the fire was near N Industrial Loop and behind homes on Pledger Parkway.

There was 1.5 acres burning, according to the fire department.

Lafayette and Walker County firefighters extinguished the fire, which produced a heavy amount of smoke.
