Driving Our Economy Forward: Clumpies Ice Cream at Howard

Students Create New Ice Cream Flavors

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Students at the Howard School are getting the scoop on business success from Clumpies Ice Cream. The business which started in Chattanooga in 1999 is giving back to the community by educating young adults on their business operations.

Clumpies was originally founded by the son of a third-generation candy maker.

Students at the Howard School learned the process of how Clumpies uses the finest local ingredients to craft their products. The company uses candies, cookies, cheesecake and fruit to make some of their most loved batches.

On Wednesday, students made their own ice cream in small batches at the Howard test kitchen. The students who are part of the culinary class at Howard School took part in an ice cream contest.

They created their own original flavors for Clumpies representatives. Two students from the school created a recipe that will be featured on Clumpies Spring Menu.
