Crossville man arrested for aggravated child abuse

CROSSVILLE, Tenn. (WDEF) — A Crossville man has been arrested for aggravated child abuse, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office.

The Department of Children’s Services (DCS) contacted Cumberland County investigators about an injured baby on December 16, 2023.

DCS said the baby was at Children’s Hospital in Knoxville for those injuries.

After investigating, the sheriff’s office said Curtis Hood, 25, committed aggravated child abuse on the baby. Hood is from Fairfield Glade, Tennessee, according to the sheriff’s office.

A grand jury then indicted Hood, and authorities arrested him on March 14.

He is now booked at the Cumberland County Jail on a $250,000 bond.

Hood will appear in court on April 5.
