Driving Our Economy Forward: Local Dive Retail
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Do you like to look for unique items no one else might have in their home? What about vintage clothing? Tonight, we introduce you to the Local Dive Retail on Cherokee Boulevard in Chattanooga to learn more about how the company continues to drive our economy forward.
Local Dive Retail offers mid-century furniture, retro housewares, clothes, shoes and handmade items.
Andie Bost said, “All unique, all affordable. Nothing here collects dust; I’ll tell you that. They rent vendor booths for me. They come in, set up their own stuff, price their own items. This location is 3200. It gives them an opportunity to come in and I say, make it your own bedroom. It’s your bedroom. You design it how you want. Don’t worry about nobody else around you. Make it your own thing. Make it what your parents said you couldn’t have when you were younger. They customized the framing, the lighting, and everything is for sale.”
Jack Tatum said, “We’ve got a bunch of independent vendors selling clothes. We stock up a couple times a month, bring out new stuff for the customer. It allows me to continue to work while people are. People are here shopping. A little bit of passive income.”
“It’s so much fun because I get to go shopping. I get to go look through people’s stuff, see what I want. It’s just the whole exciting part of going shopping,” Bost added. “To resell, knowing that somebody comes in is like, ‘oh, my gosh, I love this.’ And I’m like, ‘I love that, too.'”
There is also a Northshore vintage market that is also incorporated with the Local Dive.
The market has 25 vendors, food trucks, bands, a warehouse DJ, and a group of vendors on the last Saturday of every month.
The Local Dive is located 607 Cherokee Boulevard right behind the old Ziggy’s Bar, which is now a new complex.
Their business hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. They are closed on Wednesdays.
