Police investigate shooting at homeless encampment

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Chattanooga Police are investigating a shooting at a homeless encampment Thursday evening.

It happened on Signal Hills Drive, off of Signal Mountain Boulevard at the bottom around 6 p.m.

Investigators say a 55-year-old man was shot by another person at the camp.

The suspect fled when officers arrived.

They say the victim suffered life-threatening injuries.
