“Uncle Grandpa” Linebacker Keenan Pili Ready to Shine For the Vols

No one is more excited about the Vols spring game Saturday than linebacker Keenan Pili.
He got hurt in the season opener last year, and missed the rest of the year.
What a bummer.
Pili has played college football forever.
He’ll be 26 next month.
That age has earned him a rather un-football like nickname.

Said Pili:”Just happy to play football again. Kind of what I want to do. I don’t think I can take another chance just sitting on the sidelines and watching.”

Linebackers coach William Inge:”When you see him move around, he definitely gets your attention.  He does everything you want a linebacker to do, and you combine that with him kind of being ‘Uncle Grandpa’ is awesome.”

Said Pili:”I just accepted my role

(nickname) and just laugh about it.”
