Chattanooga Parks and Outdoors hold graffiti clean up
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Chances are you’ve seen graffiti sprayed somewhere in the community. On this past Saturday, teams of volunteers spent the day preparing to clean up graffiti along the river park area.
Those same volunteers will repaint the areas near the Wheland foundry site where Chattanooga is seeing new growth and development.
“We noticed a big uptick in graffiti, and we have tried many different ways to mina gate it but were looking for really a day of volunteers to come on out and just tackle this all at once. One of our staff members has a great design that she is doing and about 50 volunteers are coming out on a Saturday morning a repainting the graffiti behind us,” said coordinator Brian Smith.
After this round of cleanup, the volunteers will add a layer of anti-graffiti spay to help keep the Chattanooga area graffiti free.
