Could A Pastrami Sandwich Be A Bribe?

What a pickle! The city of New York is investigating Harold “Heshy” Tischler after he was caught on video appearing to bribe a FDNY inspector with a pastrami sandwich. The inspector came to investigate a complaint regarding misuse of a propane tank. Tischler, who is running for City Council in Brooklyn, can be heard in the recording offering to treat the inspector to a pastrami sandwich at Essen New York Deli, complete with a soda and pickles. “If you’re paying, I’m there, whatever,” the inspector replies. Under city rules, offering someone lunch could be considered a bride. (NY Post)
