Investigators Still Unsure Why Titan Imploded

A year ago, the Titan submersible imploded while making an expedition down to the Titanic. Investigating authorities are still unsure of what exactly happened to cause this tragedy. The U.S. Coast Guard Marine Board of Investigation said the investigation “remains active but will take longer than initially projected to complete.” The submersible went missing on June 18th, and a massive search-and-rescue operation continued through June 22nd, when debris was found 1,600 feet from the Titanic wreckage. Unfortunately, all five aboard perished. The company that deployed the submersible, OceanGate, is not currently operational. (NPR)
