Catoosa County authorities give statement on bear sightings

CATOOSA COUNTY, Ga. (WDEF) — Several Catoosa County residents have reported seeing black bears on their property recently, according to the sheriff’s office.

However, while those citizens have been reporting the sightings to the sheriff’s office, authorities say there is nothing they can do about the bears in the area.

The Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office made a statement to social media on Thursday about the recent influx of calls.

They also provided some tips for citizens to keep bears away, including removing all potential food sources.
