Picassos Hang In Women’s Bathroom
Tasmanian museum and art gallery Mona has put works by Pablo Picasso on display in the women’s bathroom. Mona opened a womens-only art installation last year, which a tribunal declared discriminatory after a man complained. In response, Curator Kirscha Kaechele turned the Ladies Lounge into a women’s restroom. “The artwork evokes in men the lived experience of women forbidden from entering certain spaces throughout history,” Kaechele said of the project.
