Dade County no longer restricting water usage

UPDATES:

July 1, 2024

The Dade County Water and Sewer Authority lifted its water restrictions on Monday.

Last week, the company asked customers to restrict their water usage in the afternoons and evenings.

They said customers were using water faster than they could fill their tanks. They also previously blamed lack of rainfall for the shortage.

Dade County Water and Sewer Authority gave an update to their water restriction Tuesday morning.

They are revising their water restriction they put in place on Monday.

The company said they are no longer implementing the even and odd numbered address watering schedule.

However, they want customers to do all necessary watering between the hours of 4 p.m. and 8 p.m.

They said this about the water shortage:

“To put it simply, customers are using the water faster than we can put it in the tanks.

With all of us working together we should be able to keep the tank full enough, so everyone has adequate water flow.

Thank you all so much for working with us during this time and we are very sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.”

DADE COUNTY, Ga. (WDEF) — Dade County is facing a water shortage due to a lack of rainfall, and many residents are dealing with temporary water restrictions.

The Dade County Water and Sewer Authority said on Monday they were implementing temporary restrictions for all their customers.

They said there has been a high demand for water during peak and non-peak hours.

The restriction will allow their tanks to fill up, they explained.

Current outdoor watering restrictions allow customers to do landscape and lawn irrigation before 10 a.m. and after 4 p.m.

Dade County Water is not allowing watering on Wednesdays.

They said even numbered addresses may water on Monday, Thursday and Saturday. Odd numbered addresses may water on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday.

The company said those wanting to fill a swimming pool should contact the main office to determine the best time to do so.
