Tennessee Sales Tax Holiday to take place July 26-28

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WDEF) — As parents are getting ready to send their kids back to school, Tennessee’s annual sales tax holiday weekend is approaching quickly.

The sales tax holiday will take place Friday July 26 through Sunday, July 28 this year.

During the holiday, Tennessee shoppers can save on clothes, school supplies and computers.

Clothes and school supplies purchases are tax-free if priced at $100 or less. Computers are tax free if priced at $1500 or less.

Tax-free purchases can be made online and in stores, according to the state.

“With the start of the school year around the corner, we encourage Tennessee families to take advantage of these savings,” Revenue Commissioner David Gerregano said. “This is the only sales tax holiday this year.”
