Rhea Co Revamps Offense With New Head Coach
We might not recognize the Rhea County football team this fall.
No more Wing ‘T’.
News 12’s Brian Armstrong delivers the 30-in-30 preview.
Rhea Co football is going to look a lot different this year under new head coach Taylor Harvey.
Harvey:”It’s new for everybody now. They’ve had a culture of being one dimensional here for a long time, so we’re trying to spread our wings a little bit. Be able to throw it some here and there and feature our athletes a little bit. The guys are adapting to it well. They’re eager. Of course I’m eager being a first year head coach. Excited for the opportunity.”
Meaning quarterback Caleb Carr is going to get to throw it more than one or two times a game.
Carr:”It has been a little bit of an adjustment. Something you get used to. Honestly it has come along pretty well. I’m going more comfortable with every practice.
Harvey:”He came in a lot and got on board with us a lot. ”
Despite the inclusion of a passing game, it doesn’t mean the running game is going away.
Harvey:”I’m still a defensive guy. Growing up as an offensive lineman, we’re still going to run the ball. Try to lean on people a little bit. Also play action here and there. A lot of kids have come out since last year that haven’t played in the past.”
