Chinese Man Has Been Trying To Get Into University For 16 Years

36-year-old Tang Shangjun has been trying to get into China’s top university since 2009. Shangjun, known as “China’s most stubborn man”, has taken the national college admission exam 16 times in his quest to score highly enough to attend Tsinghua University. While his score has improved, he has still not ranked highly enough. However, Shangjun may finally be ready to pursue different goals at another school. “He thinks that getting into the country’s top prestigious university is a great success, helping to open up a good life, but life has many ways to be successful,” a director of the 21st Century Education Research Institute in China said.
