Red Bank Hoping to Avoid Another Ride on the Quarterback Carousel
Red Bank, TN-(WDEF-TV)
You know it’s a challenging year in football, when you *almost* play as many quarterbacks, as you do offensive linemen.
Red Bank hopped on the Q-B carousel last year due to injuries.
The Lions hoping to avoid that joy-ride this season.
Brian Armstrong has Red Bank in the 30-in-30 spotlight.
Red Bank football comes into the season with options at quarterback because five different players started at QB last year due to numerous injuries.
Said lineman Micah Hardaway:”After all that diversity. One thing that makes us strong is how we adjust to things. We’re very adaptable. We’ve had like five quarterbacks in the last year. So when your O-line is used to changes. In-game changes don’t really affect you.”
Said head coach Ted Gatewood:”If we got tomorrow, right not it’s Logan McGinnis and Cayden Loveless. They’re working in there at the quarterback position. Both got game experience last year.”
Whoever the quarterback will be, he will be well protected.
Said Gatewood:”For the first time in a few years, our strength is in the offensive and defensive lines.”
Despite the defensive line being a strength, they have to replace Koby Smith, who is now playing football at Duke.
Said Hardaway:”When you lose a three star Duke commit, you’re going to have some pains.”
Said Gatewood:”The kids that have been here have seen those players who have gone on to achieve, and so it has helped them understand what it takes to get to that level.”
