Hamilton Health Care System embraces new era as Vitruvian Health
DALTON, GA. (WDEF) — Hamilton Health Care System announced today that they’re rebranding to Vitruvian Health.
The new name comes from their logo, which reflects Leonardo da Vinci’s “Vitruvian Man”.
Hamilton Health Care System’s president and chief executive officer Jeff Myers stated, “What better way to reflect a legacy of excellence and a vision of the future than to draw from Hamilton Health Care System’s roots with the da Vinci-inspired Vitruvian icon that has branded the health system for decades.”
Hamilton Health Care System originally got their name from the president of Crown Cotton Mills in the 1890s to early 1900s, George W. Hamilton.
Crown Cotton Mills helped bring physicians to the region and also helped build the hospital known today as the Hamilton Medical Center.
This rebranding arose from their regional expansion plans. The organization is finalizing the addition of Tennova Healthcare in Cleveland, Tennessee.
The hospital contains 251 beds, 100 licensed beds on the Westside Campus of the hospital, and medical practices throughout the community. The hospital will be named Bradley Medical Center.
“As Hamilton Health Care System expands into Tennessee with its acquisition of the Tennova Healthcare – Cleveland locations, it is likely to generate more and more confusion between the Hamilton name and Hamilton County. The change is necessary now so as to prevent further confusion with Hamilton County,” said Myers.
“For decades, Hamilton Health Care System has been at the forefront of delivering outstanding medical services to our community. With this new identity, Vitruvian Health will further advance our mission by emphasizing our comprehensive, integrative approach to healthcare while honoring the legacy of Hamilton that is at the core of who we are today, and in the future,” Myers stated.
