Dalton woman arrested for stabbing man at Underwood Lodge

DALTON, Ga. (WDEF) — A woman in Dalton has been arrested for stabbing a man, leaving him with life-threatening injuries.

Dalton Police responded to the Underwood Lodge at 1306 Underwood Street shortly after midnight Friday where reports claimed a man had been stabbed.

Authorities responded to the scene and the man was flown to a trauma center in Chattanooga.

Officers found Rosie Lourdes Monterrey-DeLeon from security footage at the Underwood Lodge.

Georgia State Patrol’s SWAT team responded to assist with the situation. SWAT assisted the DPD with breaching the door and taking the suspect into custody without further incident shortly after 3:30 a.m.

The 26-year-old faces charges of aggravated assault, aggravated battery, and using a knife during the commission of a felony.

The victim has since been treated and released from the hospital. He is expected to recover from his injuries.

At this time, police do not know what led to the stabbing.
