Mom to Mom – A DIY Gift for Teachers
Today on Mom to Mom, we’ve got a cute DIY teacher appreciation gift!
We love our teachers! Whether you just started back in school, or you’ve been in for quite some time, we like to give our teachers appreciation gifts throughout the year.
We’re gonna make these cute little apple jars that the teachers can sit on their desk. All you’re gonna need is a terracotta pot; some paint, whether it’s spray paint or just regular red paint; some pencils; some green felt; scissors; a hot blue gun; and, of course, a candy of your choice.
Firstly, we’re going to paint our terracotta pot red. I like to use spray paint, but you can use regular paint if you will. Now, once you have that spray painted, let that dry for a little bit, then we can start on our lids. Most terracotta pots come with the saucers, but you can buy ’em separately. The lid goes right on top of the pot.
For the next step, we’re gonna cut a pencil in half. I like to make a little indention and then I just snap it on the side of the counter. Then we will take the hot glue gun and glue the half with the eraser on it to the top of the lid. Let that dry for a little bit.
Then we’re gonna take our felt and cut some corners to make a leaf. I like to do two leaves. Then we’re gonna hot glue those guys on top and let it sit for a few minutes.
Once that’s done our terracotta pot that looks like an apple is ready to give to the teacher! You just throw in the candy that you wish to put in there and take it to the teacher. She’ll absolutely love it. It can sit on the end of her desk where she can have a sweet treat whenever she’s stressed out or she just wants something sweet. Or maybe the kiddos would like some as well!
Moms, if you have any wonderful ideas for these teachers, please share ’em on our Facebook page and we’ll see you on the next Mom to Mom!
