Erlanger nationally recognized for high-quality stroke care
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Erlanger Baroness Hospital and Erlanger East Hospital have received a national award for their high-quality stroke care.
Both hospitals received the American Heart Association’s—Stroke Gold Plus quality achievement award.
This achievement comes from stroke patients receiving the most appropriate treatment within the nationally recognized, research-based guidelines, leading to more lives saved and reduced disability.
Erlanger Baroness Hospital also received the American Heart Association’s Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite Plus award, and the American Heart Association’s Target: Stroke Honor Roll Advanced Therapy award.
To qualify for the Stroke Honor Roll Elite Plus award, hospitals are required to meet specific criteria, reducing the time between patients hospital arrival and thrombolytic therapy treatment.
The Stroke Honor Roll Advanced Therapy award criteria is reducing the time between an eligible patient’s arrival to removing the clot causing the stroke.
Erlanger East Hospital also received the American Heart Association’s Target: Stroke Honor Roll award.
