Tech Byte – More Back to School Tech From Verizon

We have our friend Winnie Wright from Verizon joining us today to bring us some more back to school tech!

PATRICK: All right. So I’ve got my homework done. That’s for obviously the big kids. What about the little kids? Let’s not leave them out today.
WINNIE: Yeah, as a parent, I totally get, wanting to know your kiddos location at all times. But what do you do when your child isn’t necessarily ready for their own phone? All right. We’ve got the Gizmo Watch three adventure. With this, you can set a morning alarm. You can have interactive games that’ll help encourage activity. You can apply school mode to keep them out of those games. Keep them focused. Plus, the watch supports real time location tracking so you can check on the bus ride home, check on them at their after school activities. Plus, another feature that parents are going to love is that you can set who they can call and text, and who can call and text them all right within the gizmo app.
PATRICK: I like it. All right. So the last thing we’ve got, all of this. How does any of this technology help us save money for school?
WINNIE: Yeah. So let’s be honest. It’s an expensive season back to school, but it’s also an important one to stay connected with Verizon 5G home internet, with plans just as low as $35 a month with autopay on select 5G plans. You’ve got all the connection you need to access those videos, those homework assignments, but also streaming for when you’re ready to kind of power down.
This is a really great option for those college students who are out on their own, got their own apartment, and need fast but affordable home internet. And with Verizon’s brand new offering, which is called My Home just announced, you’re going to be able to add your favorite streaming platforms. We’re talking Netflix and Max, Disney Plus, Apple One, all for $10 a month per streaming service. And those are savings you’re not going to get elsewhere because you know you’re not getting those prices anywhere else. And with the connected home option, you can also add cloud storage. Walmart Plus or we’ve got college football season coming up. We’re deep in the WNBA season. Add YouTube TV and you’ve got everything you need. It’s all in one platform. You can easily just toggle on and off. I need Netflix and Max, I need Disney. I actually don’t need this one. And instead of paying all those bills separately, you’ve got one simple statement that shows all your streaming services and one gotcha.
PATRICK: And that’s available at every Verizon store. All I have to do is go online or walk into my store.
WINNIE: Yeah, absolutely. We invite you to visit one of our local retail stores. They can walk you through which one of these devices is going to be best for your kiddo. Is the price on home internet the best option for you? They’re happy to walk you through it. Or if you’re one of the folks who likes to shop online or even do your homework first, it’s all available at verizon.com.
PATRICK: Fantastic. You can visit verizon.com or your local Verizon retailer. If you have questions about today’s episode or just want to see us feature your idea, please shoot me an email. I’m Patrick Moates. Thank you for watching Tech Byte.
