Firearm recovered in Chatt Prep school threat investigation

HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) —  The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) is investigating a school threat at Chattanooga Preparatory school where a weapon was recovered.

The School Resource Deputy (SRD) assigned to Chattanooga Preparatory School obtained information about a weapon brought onto campus.

A school administrator and the SRD recovered a backpack containing a firearm.

The student in which the backpack belonged to fled campus before they could be taken into custody.

Whereabouts of the student are under investigation by HCSO and Chattanooga Police.
