Three arrested in DeKalb County in relation to shots fired call
DEKALB COUNTY, Al. (WDEF) — Three men in DeKalb County were arrested after deputies responded to a shots fired call.
DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) deputies were dispatched to a possible altercation and shots fired call in the Painter Community September 18, 2024.
While enroute, deputies were advised by DeKalb 911 that the suspect left in a gray vehicle and was armed.
As deputies arrived on scene of the call, another deputy noticed a gray vehicle, matching the description of the suspects vehicle on Highway 75 near Lakeview.
The deputy proceeded to perform a traffic stop, and noticed a weapon upon approach of the vehicle.
A male passenger failed to comply with orders given, and after a brief struggle was taken into custody.
The deputy along with officers from the Geraldine Police Department searched the vehicle.
DCSO reported finding a significant amount of narcotics and two AR-15 pistols.
DeKalb County Investigators responded to the scene to interview both the passenger and driver of the vehicle.
After conducting interviews, Rodolfo Martinez-Garcia, who originally provided a fake Mexican driver’s license, was charged with the following:
- 2 counts of Alien in Possession of A Firearm
- 2nd Degree Possession of Forged Instrument
- 3 counts of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance
- Unlawful Possession of Prescription Drugs
- Resisting Arrest
During the investigation, officials determined Martinez-Garcia was present at the location at the time of the shots fired call.
After conducting interviews of subjects on the scene, Angel Cervantes was arrested for Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Prescription Drugs.
Christopher Cervantes was also arrested for outstanding warrants of Domestic Violence.
DCSO reported both Cervantes were present and involved in the altercation.
Investigators determined no one at the scene was struck by gunfire.
