Man Avoids DUI Charge By Downing Bottle Of Soju
A South Korean man avoided drunk driving charges by drinking a bottle of soju while he was pulled over. The 60-year-old was pulled over on September 16th and downed the bottle of alcohol before taking a breathalyzer. However, the court was unable to convict him because it is impossible to determine what his alcohol levels were while he was driving, before he chugged the beverage. “We cannot definitively confirm that he was drunk while driving based on such circumstantial evidence or speculation,” the Daegu court ruled. In South Korea, a BAC level of .03 or higher is punishable by law. (Korea Herald)
