Dunlap Police seized fentanyl after conducting traffic stop
DUNLAP, Tenn. (WDEF) — Dunlap Police (DPD) recovered fentanyl from a vehicle after conducting a traffic stop.
DPD officers were dispatched to the SR-28 area after a report was made of a red Chevy S10 swerving in the roadway.
It was suspected the occupants of the vehicle were possibly fighting.
After making contact with the vehicle at the Eagle Express gas station, officers identified the driver as Samuel B. Dishman.
It was also determined Dishman was driving on a revoked driver’s license status/
Officers searched Dishman’s person and discovered a plastic bag with approximately 70 blue pressed fentanyl pills.
Aluminum foil with 2 blue pressed fentanyl pills inside was also discovered.
While searching the vehicle, a 12-gauge shotgun was recovered along with several rounds of ammunition.
Police spoke with both vehicle occupants, and determined no fighting had taken place.
Dishman was arrested and charged with the following:
- Driving on a Revoked License
- Felony Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substance – Fentanyl
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
- Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
