Caracal Cat Captured In Chicago Suburb

The Hoffman Estates Police Department has captured a caracal that was spotted wandering the Chicago suburb over the past few days. Caracals are a wild cat species typically found in Africa and Asia, not in Illinois. The cat was found hiding under a resident’s deck. Officials say the caracal was not injured when it was contained and tranquilized. It will soon be moved to the Valley of the Kings Sanctuary and Retreat in Wisconsin. “We are sure he will have a healthy and happy life far away from Hoffman Estates,” police wrote on social media.
