“Animal Crossing: New Horizons” coming to the Tennessee Aquarium

Tennessee Aquarium’s Alison Pryor joins News 12’s Amelia Greer to preview the “Animal Crossing: New Horizons” tour that is splashing into the Tennessee Aquarium.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – There’s no need to hop onto Dodo Airlines when the next Animal Crossing: New Horizons National Aquarium tour stop is at the Tennessee Aquarium.

Starting on December 21 through February 28, visitors can see the game’s aquatic life become a reality at the aquarium and go, “Hey! I saw that on Animal Crossing!”

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is the latest installment of Nintendo’s Animal Crossing series made exclusively for the Nintendo Switch gaming system. The cozy game brings the player to a deserted island where they will get to fish, catch, dig, befriend animal villagers, and create the paradise of your dreams.

The franchise has sold over 78 million units, and the national tour helps bring new and current fans together to see their favorite characters come to life.

With the purchase of a general admission ticket, visitors can tour the aquarium with themed signage from Blathers, the iconic museum curator with entomophobia, as he describes the various fish seen in-game. On select weekends, the tour will feature stamp rallies where visitors can collect stamps as they tour the River Journey and Ocean Journey buildings. Additionally, visitors will get a chance to meet resident services assistant Isabelle and the infamous K.K. Slider. To get a chance to meet the special characters and participate in the stamp rallies, visit the Aquarium on January 11-12 and February 22-23.

For those who want to remember their visit, there will be Animal Crossing merchandise to purchase.

Additionally, the Tennessee Aquarium is still selling memberships this holiday season. They are the perfect gift to a family and to any aquatic life lover. The memberships do include the Animal Crossing: New Horizons events.
