Union Gospel Missions celebrates 75 years of service
Rev. Jon Rector joins News 12’s Amelia Greer to invite people to the Union Gospel Mission 75th anniversary celebration.
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Union Gospel Mission is celebrating 75 years of ministry and service to Chattanooga with a special banquet on February 28.
Union Gospel Mission focuses on helping the community with three programs. They offer a discipleship program which is a six-month recovery program to anyone struggling with drugs or alcohol. They offer a transitional program called the Barnabas program which helps people step back into society when they have no place to go. Additionally, Union Gospel Mission does community outreach.
The 75th anniversary banquet is an opportunity to share and update volunteers of all the great things the mission has done to the community. This will be the first ever banquet that the mission will be hosting. It will be held at the Bessie Smith Cultural Center on February 28.
For donors, they will receive the limited edition “Bridge to Hope” painting from national renowned Cindy Procious which shows a peaceful day in Coolidge Park.
