Victim’s ex-husband charged in Cleveland homicide case

The homicide involved local realtor Karen Liner.

Charlton Craig Liner, Karen’s ex-husband, was arrested and has been charged with First Degree Murder, and Felony Murder.

Charlton is being held at the Bradley County Jail without bond.

He is scheduled to appear in in general sessions court Tuesday morning at 9:00 a.m.

Karen was found unresponsive in the driveway of the residence on Arthur Lane NW.

Investigators later pronounced her dead at the scene.

Karen was a registered nurse before later becoming a realtor.

She was also a mother of 2.


CLEVELAND, Tenn. (WDEF) —  Cleveland Police (CLPD) are investigating a homicide that occurred in a local neighborhood.

At 8:44 a.m., January 27. 2025 CLPD responded to 135 Arthur Lane NW after a 911 call.

According to CLPD, they are actively conducting a homicide investigation.

The homicide is involving a white female, who has been identified as Karen Liner.

Liner was a realtor in the Cleveland area.

There is no concern for public safety at this time, as CLPD is talking to a person of interest.

No other information has been released at this time.
