Tennessee releases first immigration crime report
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WDEF) — The Tennessee District Attorneys General Conference (TNDAGC) has released its first immigration crime report.
This report details data collected from local law enforcement agencies on criminal charges and convictions involving individuals not lawfully present in the United States.
The report, issued on January 31, 2025, complies with Public Chapter 998 and Tennessee Code § 4-1-425.
Covering the period from October 1 to December 31, 2024, the report includes data from 73 of the state’s 95 counties, with 71 counties submitting reports for all three months.
According to TNDAGC, approximately 2,719 reports were received during the three-month span.
Among the 3,854 total charges reported, 447 were classified as violent crimes, including 11 homicides statewide.
The report also provides a breakdown of offenses and the reported countries of origin of those charged.
As required by law, the findings were submitted to Governor Bill Lee, House Speaker Cameron Sexton, and Lt. Governor Randy McNally.
