Dalton police seek public’s help in identifying shoplifting suspect
DALTON, Ga. (WDEF) — The Dalton Police Department (DPD) is asking for the public’s help in identifying a woman accused of shoplifting.
This incident occurred in January at the retailer’s location on West Walnut Avenue.
The suspect entered a local TJ Maxx around 12:40 p.m. and was observed by a loss prevention employee as she concealed approximately $134 worth of merchandise.
She then exited the store without paying.
When confronted in the parking lot and asked to return to the store, she refused and continued walking.
The woman was with two men who were inside the store with her, but did not take any merchandise.
According to DPD, witnesses saw the group walking through the parking lot, but it is unclear whether they left in a vehicle.
The suspect is described as a white woman with reddish-brown hair.
She was wearing a pink neck scarf, which she occasionally pulled up over her face, along with a gray and black plaid jacket or shirt over a black t-shirt featuring a skull with roses.
Surveillance footage did capture the incident, along with her without the scarf covering her face.
Anyone with information about the suspect is urged to contact Detective Charles Williams at 706-278-9085, extension 9-280.
