Second arrest made in connection to Pleasant Grove Park shooting
WHITFIELD COUNTY, Ga. (WDEF) — Whitfield County authorities have made a second arrest in connection to the Pleasant Grove Park shooting that occurred in August of 2024.
The Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) arrested 18-year-old Andres Jared Guzmas in

Guzman is being charged with murder and is currently being held at the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center.
On August 24, 2024, at 11:14 p.m. deputies responded to gunfire reports at Pleasant Grove Park.
Upon arrival, deputies located four deceased males at the scene, who were later identified as:
- Joshua Pedro Pelico, 19 years old
- David Antonio Delgadillo, 21 years old
- Daniel Segura Cruz, 17 years old
- Robert Valencia, 18 years old
A preliminary investigation revealed that two groups of young men met at the park to exchange contraband.
The encounter ended in gunfire, and as a result, left four victims dead.
Authorities had previously arrested a 16-year-old male in connection to the murders.
