Man faces additional charges following multiple pursuits
SODDY DAISY, Tenn. (WDEF) — One man is facing additional charges following two separate pursuits with law enforcement earlier this month.
Arthur Wright was arrested on Saturday, February 8, 2025, after leading deputies from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) and officers from the Soddy Daisy Police Department.
Wright led authorities on a foot chase that ended with him jumping into Soddy Lake in an attempt to escape.
Deputies took him into custody as he tried to climb out of the water.
He was charged with Possession of Burglary Tools, Resisting Arrest, and Evading Arrest.
Wright has multiple felony convictions including Aggravated Burglary, Aggravated Assault, and being a Convicted Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
Now, Wright faces even more legal trouble related to an earlier police pursuit on February 2, 2025.
During that incident, Wright fled on foot after his vehicle was stopped using spike strips.
Before coming to a halt, his car struck a Red Bank Police Department patrol unit.
As he ran into the woods near Highway 27, deputies recovered a firearm, a knife, and approximately $1,200 in cash that he had discarded.
A search of his vehicle uncovered stolen merchandise, electronics, and other items, including mail that helped law enforcement identify him.
Further investigation linked Wright to a theft at a Manchester Walmart after store surveillance footage confirmed he had stolen the merchandise found in his car.
As a result, he now faces additional charges from the Manchester Police Department.
