CPD arrests juvenile suspect in connection to McCallie Avenue shooting

UPDATE (2/19/2025):  Chattanooga police have arrested a juvenile in connection to the McCallie Avenue shooting on Saturday.

A preliminary investigation conducted by CPD’s homicide unit confirmed the 23-year-old victim was the intended target of the shooting.

According to CPD, investigators were able to identify the 17-year-old juvenile suspect as the shooter, charging him with the following:

  • Aggravated Assault
  • Felony Reckless Endangerment
  • Tampering with Evidence

He was taken into custody, and transported to the Hamilton County Juvenile Detention Center.


CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) —  Chattanooga police are investigating a shooting that occurred over the weekend on McCallie Avenue.

At 9:45 p.m., February 15, 2025, officers with the Chattanooga Police Department (CPD) responded to the 2000 block of McCallie Avenue for a person shot call.

According to CPD, officers initially responded to a local hospital, where the 23-year-old female arrived in a personal vehicle.

The victim received non-life-threatening injuries.

A preliminary investigation conducted by CPD’s Homicide Unit reveals that the victim was driving in the 2000 block of McCallie Avenue when a suspect shot at her from another vehicle.

This information is preliminary and is subject to change as the investigation continues.
