Cambridge Square development stirs debate at commission over Ooltewah growth
OOLTEWAH, Tenn. (WDEF)- A new Ooltewah development faced some pushback Wednesday at Hamilton County Commission.
A new neighborhood is being built adjacent to Cambridge Square.
Wednesday’s resolution was to approve 26 new townhome units to the already over 300 homes already built or under construction.
Concerns were raised over the area’s sewage and traffic capacity, especially along Ooltewah-Georgetown Road.
Chairman Jeff Eversole, who represents Ooltewah, said, “That portion of it from the interstate to Lee Highway, and I refer to it as the new Snow Hill, and it’s a horrible, horrible, horrible two lane through there, with drop-offs.”
The additional townhomes were approved by the Commission, but both Ooltewah representatives, Eversole and Steve Highlander, voted against the expansion.
