Driving Our Economy Forward: Elders Ace

Elder’s Ace Hardware is a local family-owned business.  The company operates 37 neighborhood hardware stores that serve East Tennessee, Middle Tennessee, Western North Carolina, and North Georgia.  From lawn care to plumbing and painting, Elder’s Ace has continued to Drive our Economy Forward since 1969.

Director of Marketing, John Rutter says, “So Elder’s Ace Hardware, we’re known for helpfulness. We employ a lot of high school students that it’s their very first job. You know we have some of those folks that continue along with our company. Many of our store managers, many of our directors started here working part-time at Elder’s fifty-eight; that was me!  I started working here when I was 16 years old. Another thing that is different from Elder’s Ace Hardware from the big box stores is that we carry some really… the best brands. And so, when it comes to power equipment, we carry steel power equipment and ego battery power equipment. We carry Benjamin Moore paint for interior exterior paint. We carry a Big Green Egg ceramic grill. And so, if you’re looking for a Komoto style, Big Green Egg is the big name of the brands.”

Customer Bill Bolton says, “Most items I can get here. So, for me being just a DIY home person, I can get most anything I need right here at Ace on 58 and not have to go to the big box stores and not have to deal with the traffic and time spent.”

Lauren Reabold, Brand Manager says, “It makes me feel very proud. My dad is now the president of our company. And my uncle is the CFO. So, it’s very much a family business. But all of them have just worked so hard. They poured so much. It poured so much into our people. And our people just do such an incredible job. They just represent our brand so well and deliver helpfulness to our customers that makes me feel really proud. And definitely to hear other people talk about it, and just what a helpful friendly place that is it doesn’t make you really proud, so.”

Rutter ends by saying, “Please come visit us at Elder’s Ace. We will be having our Founders Day sell this Saturday, March 1st. All day long. All our locations across town. We’d love to see you.”
