Volkswagen Adds More Jobs
CHATTANOOGA, TN (WDEF) – Volkswagen Chattanooga will be hiring 200 production employees at the Enterprise South plant in the next ten weeks.
The automaker is working to begin production on the midsize SUV and to do a facelift on the Passat.
That has created immediate opportunities for new employees who will involved in parts handling and transportation.
The UT Center of Business and Economic Research says the expansion to produce the SUV, and the opening of a North American Engineering and Planning Center, could create 9,800 new jobs for this area.
That would be about 370 million dollars in additional annual income, once the plant is fully operational.
The vacancies are being filled through Aerotek, the staffing agency that partners with Volkswagen.
