Additional charges filed in connection to Sale Creek SWAT standoff

SALE CREEK, Tenn. (WDEF) —  Authorities have filed additional charges in connection to the February SWAT standoff in Sale Creek.

Kenneth Lee Kizzar and Julia Ann Kizzar have both been charged with 11 felonies related to the investigation and search warrant following the Sale Creek SWAT standoff that occurred February 21.

Kenneth was originally charged with Accessory After the Fact on February 24.

According to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO), Robert Drayton Bowen has now been charged with 19 additional felonies for his involvement in the February 21 incident.

After Bowen’s arrest, HCSO Criminal Investigations Unit searched Kizzars’ residence located at 15420 Dayton Pike.

Authorities found the following:

  • 10 firearms
  • 40 grams of marijuana
  • Suppressor
  • Substantial amount of ammunition
  • Tannerite

Both Kenneth and Julia Ann Kizzar have been charged with the following:

  • (1) Charge of Possession of Schedule VI Controlled Substance for Resale
  • (10) Charges of Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of or Attempt to Commit a Dangerous Felony (Although Kizzar is not a convicted felon, these charges arise from the illegal narcotics located at the residence)

Below are the new charges that have been filed on Robert Drayton Bowen:

  • (8) Additional Charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm while Convicted of a Felony Crime of Violence
  • (10) Charges of Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of or Attempt to Commit a Dangerous Felony
  • Charge of Possession of a Schedule VI Controlled Substance (Marijuana) for Resale

According to HCSO, they received a tip regarding suspected narcotics sales occurring at this residence.

Hamilton County Sheriff Austin Garrett announced these additional charges March 3, 2025.
